Pep up your step while the weather is getting warmer.  Find activities outdoors that will keep you active and healthy.  Remember to eat small portions and to get at least 30 minutes of cardio a day.  As the summer is on its way remember to grab some sunblock and apply it to prevent premature skin damage.  Hydrate by drinking lots of water on those sunny days and don't forget to have fun in the sun!

muscle endurance and training

Muscle endurance takes lots of proper exercise and correct nutrition.  Your muscles should be tired after your work out, and you should try to work different muscles every day of the week in order to train your body correctly.  Once you come back to the muscles that you had worked before, your muscles should be rested and ready to work hard and to the point of exhaustion.  It is important to warm up your body with some sort of cardio and stretching before training.  Remember it is important to eat a light meal within 30 minutes of your exercise.

There are several types of massages that you can get to help your body recover from daily aches and pains.  Nuromuscular therapy for chronic pain, deep tissue massage to flush out soft tissue and release chronic muscle tension, myofascial release massage for the release of muscular tension, sports massage given to most athletes for the emphases of prevention and healing of injuries to the muscles and tendons, lymphatic massage useful for people experiencing edema or excess fluid and swelling, and NMT which is great for those experiencing pain due to arthritis.  Which ever category you fit into massage can help relive pain and extra stress in your body.

exercises for arthritis

Swimming, water aerobics, and walking are all great exercises for arthritis.  Being in the water is great for your joints and gives you a really calming feeling while exercising.  You can still get a great workout while doing these exercises if you push yourself and do the exercises correctly.

Dealing with arthritis

There are two types of arthritis; rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.  If you are feeling pain and swelling in your joints, feet, and hands you should call a rheumatologist to diagnose your problems.  Some helpful tips to help you cope with the pain is to 1) stay active and don't become a couch potato 2) take an ibuprofen in the morning 3) take fish oil  4) see your rheumatologist to prescribe you medication 5) have 1 glass Merlot if of age per week to bring down inflammation - other alternatives would be to walk around and keep moving.

I will tell you why running is so good for you.  Running increases your cardiovascular exercise, which is good for your heart.  Your heart is the center of your body which fuels the blood flow to your body and your brain.  The more circulation you have, the better you can think, the quicker you can move, and overall better health you will have throughout your body, because all of your tiny blood vessels will be getting enough oxygen to fuel your body in order for you to walk around and move around properly.  You can start with walking and then move to speed walking and then on to  running.  Distance and time are up to you.  I would recommend at least one hour of walking or running a day.

Stay motivated

There is no reason to fret about exercising.  Take "baby steps" to get into a gym at your house or a near by gym.  And push yourself while you are there  to improve on your strength and ability.  Your body is only as strong as you make it.  Knowing yourself and what you want for yourself can drastically change your mind, body and spirit.  Don't get overwhelmed.  Change does not occur overnight, so you must relax and give your body proper rest in order for you muscles to recoup.

why is running so good?

What is strength training?

What is strength training?

Strength training is not just lifting weights.  You can take a Pilates class that strengthens you with your own body weight or a body works class that uses weights and body fitness movements.  You can also use the weights you can find in any gym and that I have on my website at to get you in top shape to add some extra weight to your exercise routine.  Your body burns fat by building muscle.  Or muscle burns fat, whichever way you say it.  You still need to lift some weights to keep your body's metabolism in check and to keep that extra bit of body fat off.  You must be careful how you lift weights.  You should not swing weights, and if you are then the weight is too heavy for you.  Keep in mind your own ability and strength train properly and you will get the max results.
